AIM

To go past/over the flat forehand stick of a defender in front of you.

 

 

STANCE

The ball is next to your right foot and the left foot is behind (not indicated). Both knees are bend.

Your stick is in a straight line with you underarm behind the ball, your back straight and your head up.

DANCE

Move the ball fowards and then sharp to the left as indicated whilst stepping sideways onto your left foot.

Take the stick beyond your left and move your left wrist down 'ice cream scooping' the ball forward.

The ball should go about a football high and far.

Since your weight is on your left you can step forward with your right and go.

COMMENT

Why is this diagram 14 for the advanced top end of the class players? It is just simple, isn't it?

Far far too many balls fly against defender's legs, torso or even face. This IS a possibly dangerous Move.

You have to CONTROL it properly and only then use it. Don't go lifting the ball above knee height!

Plus the sideways part is essential to go past the defender and not run into him/her.
